This year I am running to raise money for a list of amazing women. A list that is too long.
With over 2 million women diagnosed with breast cancer across the world every year, we are all likely to know someone touched by this disease.
I have run various « run for the cure » events for the better part of 20 years now, starting in Montreal, Canada when I was in my twenties. My grandmother (who will be 102 this year!!) is a breast cancer survivor and running to raise funds for breast cancer research seemed like a good way to honour her resilience. Since then in France I have run not only for my grandmother but also for aunts, friends, colleagues, colleagues wives as well as more recently my mother.
Alas this year I added my own name to the list.
In 2024, I will do my best to ‘run’ to raise money for Association Prolific – Projet de recherche ATIP 3. I would like to dedicate my effort to my beloved family who dropped everything to literally carry the burden for me and to my friends and colleagues who were tireless in their support.
I would like to thank the amazing medical team at the L’Institut du Sein Paris. Thank you Dr. Clough and the entire team for the safe space, the infallible empathy and extraordinary care.
